Project Background
The overarching project deliverable is to integrate state-of-the-art tools in order to demonstrate and promote a comprehensive irrigation water management system and environmental market based incentive program. Many of the tools needed for precision irrigation exist but are not integrated to achieve full effectiveness. The questions of when, where, and how much to irrigate are capable of being answered, but our team’s objective is to create a singular, accessible system in which to manage those questions daily through one tool. Primarily, the project objectives will address water quantity through conservation, but precision irrigation management also directly impacts water quality through the reduction of runoff and leaching. The environmental market opportunity will engage corporations and consumers in water conservation efforts.
