Project Background
The purpose of this award is for the grantee to demonstrate the use of a micro wind turbine (Skystream 3.7) as an innovative answer to on-farm energy savings and atmospheric conservation. The implementation of the micro wind turbine will maintain, restore, and enhance air quality by reducing the use of fossil fuel. By tracking the Skystream performance in real time, the grantee will calculate the savings and benefits of the system and post the monthly reports on the “What Grows in Rhode Island – News Blog – Energy” to provide technology transfer to other Rhode Island farmers.
