Project Background
Leveraging the experience and conservation efforts of other CIG greenhouse gas project developers, Encourage Capital proposes to establish a Working Lands Investment Fund (WLIF) to stimulate investment in conservation practices through the purchase of carbon credits generated by producers. A guaranteed purchase agreement driven by private investment will set up the infrastructure to purchase at least 100,000 tons of working land carbon credits and ensure that landowners are compensated for implementing conservation measures.
