Since its inception in 2004, CIG has funded hundreds of projects, boosting natural resource conservation while helping producers improve the health of their operations for the future. Use this tool to search for CIG projects based on any of the criteria listed below.

CIG projects from 2004-2009 may be missing information in the following categories: Resource Concern (specific), Conservation Practice, Production/Use.

Showing 971 - 980 of 1760 projects

Pennsylvania State University     |     PA     |     2011
Project to demonstrate the use of a liquid additive in waste storage tanks to reduce the odors generated by hog farms.
Piscataquis County SWCD     |     ME     |     2011
Develop, construct and evaluate innovative High Tunnel design.
Placer Land Trust     |     CA     |     2011
Stimulate the development, adoption and evaluation of an innovative strategy designed to make the process easier for land trusts and working ranches to participate in the compliance carbon offset market
Quantitative BioSciences     |     CA     |     2011
Replace the traditional lagoon approach to waste treatment to an algae based approach that will improve water quality and generate valuable biomass-based co-product.
Randolf Scharfenberg     |     AK     |     2011
Project is to design and construct a solar heat exchanger for plant growth enhancement and to save fuel costs. The project will produce a system of solar heat exchangers, in the greenhouse soil, to warm the soil temperature for enhanced plant growth, enhance microbial activity to decompose organic fertilizer and allow stored heat in the soil to heat the greenhouse.
Rodale Institute     |     PA     |     2011
Demonstration of a modified temperature regime in composting (turning as temperature requires, not at a fixed schedule) that produces a material that enhances the beneficial biotic populations, nutrient retention and nutrient cycling. The compost was spreaded on farm fields and using lysimeters leachate samples were collected and analyzed for water quality.
Rutgers University Office of Research and Sponsored Programs     |     NJ     |     2011
Through this project we will: 1. prepare a comprehensive EQIP adoptable leaf application practices guide, 2. promote increased adoption of non-tillage, permanent grass pasture based animal agriculture or more planting of permanent cash crop forages on appropriate soils, 3. test and demonstrate a new soil test tool for farmers, the Solvita Soil Biological Activity Test, and 4. encouraging greater municipal distribution of leaves for farmland application as demand increases.
San Mateo Co RCD     |     CA     |     2011
Demonstrate biochar use in agricultural applications in teh specific local climatic and soil conditions of coastal San Mateo County.
Solomon Valley RC&D     |     KS     |     2011
Grow and market Nopal cactus and summer vegetable rotation from a high tunnel system to Historically underserved farmers.
South Dakota State University     |     SD     |     2011
This project aims to demonstrate and evaluate four field-scale bioreactors designs by installing, monitoring, analyzing and documentatig their effectiveness.
