Project Search

Since its inception in 2004, CIG has funded hundreds of projects, boosting natural resource conservation while helping producers improve the health of their operations for the future. Use this tool to search for CIG projects based on any of the criteria listed below.

CIG projects from 2004-2009 may be missing information in the following categories: Resource Concern (specific), Conservation Practice, Production/Use.

Showing 1361 - 1370 of 1760 projects

Montana State University: Land Resources and Environmental Sciences     |     MT     |     2008
This project will implement methods for characterization of the temporal and spatial distribution of solar radiation across Montana. The placement and sizing of solar technologies is dependent on knowledge of the availability of solar radiation. The project aims to better understand the controls on solar radiation variability, to develop methods for representing the solar radiaiton characteristics, and to provide information useful for the efficacy of solar radiation technologies across Montana.
Natural Resources Trust     |     ND     |     2008
This project will investigate the economics of perennial biomass crops
NMSU Regents     |     NM     |     2008
Strip Tillage, No Till and Stubble Management Practices for Improving Water Use Efficiency
North Dakota State University     |     ND     |     2008
1) Collect water samples, measure soil moisture content, analyze water balance and water quality
Painted Sky RC&D     |     CO     |     2008
This project would set-up 4 demonstration sites using biological control on tamarisk control without mechanical control. Project would involve monitoring the sites of the beetles and re-vegetation progress and training in the data collection. Data would be evaluated by Dr. Dan Bean, Insectary manager followed with an interim report.
Pennsylvania State University     |     PA     |     2008
This project will aim to demonstarte how farmers can introduce a new crop to their rotations to generate oil and reduce dependency on fossil fuels.
Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory     |     CO     |     2008
Demonstrate using fire as a tool to manage grazing and forestlands. In accomplishing this they want to create a local fire cooperative, consisting of landowners, organizations, state, federal and private partners. This trained group will take the lead in this area for all prescribed burns.
ROOTS & SHOOTS GARDEN CENTER     |     RI     |     2008
The purpose of this award is for the grantee to build an energy-efficient greenhouse heating system by using solar energy, thereby reducing dependency on oil and gas. The ground-mounted solar panels and a two-zone radiant heat system will provide root zone heating to benefit plant growth and health, resulting in greater productivity. The project will examine the energy savings realized as well as documenting plant growth with root zone heating compared to standard greenhouse heating systems.
Rutgers University     |     NJ     |     2008
Develop procedures and guidelines for conducting energy audits in intensive agricultural operations such as greenhouses
San Luis Valley RC & D     |     CO     |     2008
The objective of this project is to improve water and energy conservation. It will convert 5.8 miles of lateral ditches to pipeline and control and monitor flows through the new pipeline exclusively with solar-powered equipment. All gates and turn outs will be fully automated using the radio telemetry, which will be solar powered. It is the first in the Western Slopes of Colorado.
