Project Search

Since its inception in 2004, CIG has funded hundreds of projects, boosting natural resource conservation while helping producers improve the health of their operations for the future. Use this tool to search for CIG projects based on any of the criteria listed below.

CIG projects from 2004-2009 may be missing information in the following categories: Resource Concern (specific), Conservation Practice, Production/Use.

Showing 141 - 150 of 1760 projects

Rid-All Foundation, Inc.     |     MI, NM, OH     |     2020
This project will develop community-based /scaled appropriate technology that expands the capabilities and financial viability of urban and rural regenetrative agriculture practioners. The project will utilize renewable bioenergy systems to enable four-season agricultural production; produce biochar as a cop=product of bioenergy system generation; and explore additional biochar applications at demonstration sites.
Texas Water Trade     |     NM, TX     |     2020
The project will demonstrate that instream flows can be enhanced through voluntary water rights agreements in Texas that improve the financial resilience of agricultural water rights holders, as evaluated by using the Flows Restoration Accounting Framework (FRAF).
Playa Lakes Joint Venture     |     AZ, CO, KS, NE, NM, OK, TX     |     2020
The project will build an online decision support tool to estimate effects of wildlife programs and practices on populations of grassland birds. The decision support tool will use existing geospatial and bird monitoring data to and build on years of conservation planning and delivery experience across four Migratory Bird Joint Ventures. The innovative, interactive tool will be spatially explicit, integrate across breeding and non-breeding seasons, and potentially integrate across international borders.
Texas A&M Agrilife Research     |     AZ, CA, TX, WA     |     2020
Texas A&M will use innovative integration of camera, image, and sensor technology to create a tool to monitor wildlife tepcially difficult to observe. Dramatic images, fine-scale data, ArcGIS compatibility, and an accessible web interface will empower producers and scientists to better monitor wildlife on agricultural land.
University of New Hampshire     |     NH     |     2020
The project team will work with TSP foresters to demostrate silviculture techniques that are effective in rehabilitating poor-quality forest stands.
The University of Minnesota     |     MN     |     2020
This project will develop an effective, efficient and economically feasbile system that does not require pre- or post- treatment and will mitigate the highly toxic and odorous hydrogen sulfide gas released from pit manure storages and be an environmentally-friendly solution to H2S emissions from dairy manure storage.
Michigan State University     |     IA, MI     |     2020
This project will stimulate the adoption of saturated buffers and improve water quality while maintaining crop productivity. The project will increase knowledge of the value of saturated buffers and inform farm-level siting of the practice for efficient nitrate removal.
Texas A&M Agrilife Research     |     TX     |     2020
To develop and demonstrate a biochar-assisted phytoremediation system for enhancing water quality during dairy manure application, improving knowledge of field-applied calcium hydroxide-coated biochar and how, when used in conjunction with plants, it can help enhance water quality during dairy manure application.
The Ohio State University     |     KY, OH     |     2020
This project will run a simulation model to optimize livestock ventilation system designs and install high efficiency direct drive electronically commultated (EC) motors, sensors, and controllers on a 2,400 head swine tunnel finishing barn and a 300 head dairy farm.
Texas A&M Agrilife Research     |     CO     |     2020
To inform the development of a decision and implementation tool applying fresh water and wastewater mixed with fresh water applied to open-lot surfaces to reduce NH3 emissions.
