CIG projects from 2004-2009 may be missing information in the following categories: Resource Concern (specific), Conservation Practice, Production/Use.

Showing 1211 - 1220 of 1760 projects

Delta County Economic Development     |     CO     |     2009
The project involves assessment of an irrigation equipment innovation that would allow producers using gated pipe to potentially control water delivery with more precision, saving energy and labor.
ECOASSET MARKETS, INC     |     RI     |     2009
The purpose of this award is to pilot an innovative market-based approach to managing water withdrawals in the Chipuxet River watershed and to model the effect of the reduction in withdrawals on base flows and its impact on other ecosystem services. It will build upon previous water usage studies, incorporate current hydrologic models/ecosystem services assessments, and apply EcoAsset Markets’ experience with community based environmental markets to prototype successful water/ecosystem services management in the watershed.
The resulting ecosystem service economic model will provide landowners/producers a better basis for economic/environmental management of their land, provide communities with innovative methods to finance conservation and water-related environmental improvements, and provide a well-studied basis for the policy and regulatory changes necessary to improve environmental economies – a task that historically has been economically difficult.
EnSave Inc.     |     OH     |     2009
This project aims to establish a training and certification plan for farm energy audit data collectors, and train local people to be data collectors for farm energy audits.

Provide training to private sector and interested university personnel in the process to complete energy audits. Enough individuals will be training to meet the needs of landowners wishing to receive an energy audit in Missouri.
Flux Farm Foundation     |     CO     |     2009
This agreement is to provide financial assistance to Flux Farm Foundation to help guide five landowners from western Colorado through the feasibility study and permitting process for a micro-hydroelectric project. Each of the five will be documented as a detailed case study for other interested parties to follow in the future.
Forest Education and Conservation Foundation     |     NC     |     2009
The purpose of this grant agreement is to create a training video 15-25 minutes long geared toward this population of professionals and non-professionals. The script will be developed by the project manager and reviewed by the collaborators for accuracy. The video will be filmed professionally by a local film company.
International Institute     |     NH     |     2009
This project aims to assist immigrant and refugees to gain knowledge, experience, and networking skills to access technology, land, and markets for agricultural products and services
Jefferson Conservation District     |     CO     |     2009
This project provides an innovative way to manage forest wastes in a sustainable way, using forest biomass to create biochar in a mobile pyrolysis unit. This will reduce the volume and weight of the forests waste materials and the biochar produced will be applied to soils to increase forestry and agroforestry productivity on EQIP eligible lands. Biochar increases soil water holding capacity and the ability of the soil to retain nutrients.
Jornada RC&D     |     NM     |     2009
Stream bars and vegetation establishment for bank and dike protection in seasaonly flooded arroyos
Lea Soil and Water Conservation District     |     NM     |     2009
This project will purchase no-till drill and administer a no-till drill loan/lease program.
