Project Search

Since its inception in 2004, CIG has funded hundreds of projects, boosting natural resource conservation while helping producers improve the health of their operations for the future. Use this tool to search for CIG projects based on any of the criteria listed below.

CIG projects from 2004-2009 may be missing information in the following categories: Resource Concern (specific), Conservation Practice, Production/Use.

Showing 941 - 950 of 1760 projects

Colonial SWCD     |     VA     |     2011
Conduct field scale demonstration projects with at least 10 crop producers within Virginia’s Coastal Plain where the variable rate, sensor based nitrogen delivery system known as GreenSeeker™ is compared to the standard nitrogen application method used by the producer. Over the life of the project, GreenSeeker™ will be demonstrated on a total of at least 1,600 acres of small grains and at least 1,600 acres of corn.
Conservation Technology Information Center     |     IL     |     2011
CTIC will demonstrate the utility, affordability and usability of nutrient management practices that apply the right source of fertilizer at the right rate, time and place by calculating nutrient use efficiency on the same fields where till outlast are monitored for nitrate concentrations.
Dart-AM Farms LLC     |     AK     |     2011
Dart-AM is a working geothermal greenhouse business that owns and operates Manley hot Springs Produce Co. The CIG was used for continued development of a combined heat and power system to lower the cost of farming greenhouse vegetables and to provide electricity and refrigeration at the farm. A spinoff of generating excel electrical power for community needs also existed.
Douglas Stanley Hamilton     |     WY     |     2011
This project is evaluating a Written Pole Motor as a cost effective alternative to three-phase power that provides an efficient use of electricity. With three-phase power not available in many rural areas in Wyoming, an efficient alternative is needed to power center-pivot irrigation systems.
Earth by Design     |     WY     |     2011
This project will demonstrate and evaluate new methods in biomass digestion technologies for mitigating animal mortality and food waste disposal by using portable digesters on-farm, to provide biomass solutions in markets where previously unavailable and to replace existing practices of composting, burying, landfills, burning and open pond digestion, offsetting operational costs (water, gas, and electricity). It will make the connection between anaerobic digestion and the direct, beneficial effects on the soil.
Earth Dharma Farm     |     ME     |     2011
Develop, Construct and Evaluate Sustainable On-Farm Bio-Char Production.
Eastern Connecticut Conservation District     |     CT     |     2011
Demonstrating the effectiveness of using a crimper roller in combination with a deep zone tiller and planter. Most farmers in the region have no first hand experience with crimper/rollers and this demonstrates the effectiveness in a real world setting. The project also includes additional studies oon the fuel savings and time savings of ganged instruments.
Forest Preserve District of DuPage County     |     IL     |     2011
This project is focused on fixing the gully and ephemeral erosion problem that is flowing into a wetland area. The Wetland is home to the federally protected Hine's Emerald Dragonfly habitat.
G3, LLC     |     MT     |     2011
3E-CMP is a uniquely designed corrugated pipe innovation which allows easier access to the base of the pipe-resulting in improved aquatic habitat.
Gordon Wrobel     |     AK     |     2011
Primary purpose was to explore strategies to address the absence of available arable land in SE Alaska. Incorporated a floating island design by Floating Island International, the island provided a platform that supported a tent greenhouse, open container planters, and direct planting.
